September is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Month

Polycystic ovary syndrome (also known as PCOS), is one of the most common ovulatory disorders among women. It effects roughly one in ten (or 5 million) women in the United States according to statistics from the PCOS Awareness Association.

During the month of September, the PCOSAA, and other women’s health organizations, create public awareness about this little known ovulatory disorder by urging women to recognize the symptoms (i.e., pelvic pain, irregular periods, excessive hair growth, acne, weight gain, and etc.) outlined in this infographic, and see a doctor if they suspect PCOS…
