Although cooked beets have their perks, there’s good reason to opt for beet juice instead. Researchers have found health benefits directly linked to beet juice. Healthline says it can help protect the liver from oxidative damage and inflammation. Plus, it could increase natural detoxification enzymes.

These findings have been observed in animals. While they have yet to be confirmed in humans, healthy beet juice is still something to try out. This recipe from Simply Health Kitchen takes five minutes to make and includes other beneficial ingredients such as cucumbers, carrots, spinach, parsley, and more.

Liver Cleanse With Leafy Greens

Those antioxidants are important when it comes to getting rid of something called free radical molecules that damage your cells. Oxidative stress can lead to several problems, including liver disease.

Liver Cleanse With Oranges and Ginger

Upgrade your average cup of orange juice with this flavorful recipe from Elle Republic. Included in the list of ingredients is a tablespoon of freshly grated ginger. According to LiveStrong, ginger contains liver-protective properties.

One study shows that ginger may help protect against and potentially treat liver fibrosis. Researchers found that ginger can increase levels of vital antioxidant enzymes used by the liver, such as glutathione and superoxide dismutase. Ginger may also protect against nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, which is a disease 100 million people in the U.S. are estimated to have.
