Top 6 Baby Shower Games of 2023

A lot of effort goes into planning an epic baby shower for a parent-to-be. You have to plan the guest list, create (and send out) the invitations, buy party decorations, and prepare food. Oftentimes, the entertainment is an oversight, which may result in lame and boring games. But no one wants to see their guests rolling their eyes or groaning in disappointment. So, we’re here to help!

Here’s a list of fun baby shower games your guests will actually want to play! Just keep in mind, you don’t want to have too many games either. Depending on how long the shower is, two to three games are typically ideal to keep your guests entertained while still providing enough time to socialize with each other and the parent-to-be.

The Clothespin Game

The clothespin game, also known as ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ is one of the most common baby shower games. It’s also super easy to play and requires hardly any prep. The object of the game is to give every guest a diaper pin or clothespin upon arrival and ask them to pin it to their clothing.

The object of the game is to refrain from saying the word ‘baby’ throughout the whole party. If a guest catches someone saying the word, they get to steal their clothespin. At the end of the party, the guest who collected the most pins wins!

The Price Is Right

It’s no secret that having a baby is expensive, especially when it’s your first. Test your guest’s knowledge and find out how much they know about the cost of common baby items. While this game requires a bit of extra planning and preparation, it’s fun for the guests and the best part is you can gift all the items to the guest of honor at the end.

To get ready for this game, you’ll want to purchase common baby supplies. Some great items to include are a box of diapers, a package of baby wipes, a thermometer, baby soap, baby lotion or rash cream, bottles, baby detergent, and anything else you think would make a great addition. Develop your list and keep the prices to yourself. Then have your guests guess the prices of each item without going over. The guest who guesses the closest price on most items wins the game.

Shower Gift Bingo

Who doesn’t love a classic game of bingo? To play this game you’ll hand out a blank bingo card to each guest. Ask the guests to fill out each space in the card with guesses for what the parent-to-be will receive.

You’ll play this game while the guest of honor opens their gifts. As the gifts are being opened, instruct your guests to mark off the square if they guessed the right item. The guest who yells ‘bingo’ first, wins. If you want to keep the game going, you could have multiple prizes and hand them out every time bingo is called.

Name the Poop

This game certainly sounds disgusting, and it actually looks gross too but it’s sure to get lots of laughs from your guests! The object of the game is to guess what the “poop” (which is actually chocolate!) smells like. So, here’s what you need:

To play this game you’ll first need to melt the chocolate bars in the diaper by placing them in the microwave. Then pass the diapers around and have each guest take a whiff. They’ll record their answers and the guest with the most correct guesses wins.

Blindfolded Diaper Change Station

Let’s see how well your guests can change a diaper! But there’s a twist. Your guests will be blindfolded as they try to change the diaper as quickly as possible. Make it extra challenging by making a time limit.

For this game, you’ll need a variety of baby dolls or stuffed animals, diapers, blindfolds, and a timer. The guest who does the best job in the designated amount of time wins the game.

Match the Baby’s Picture

This game involves some extra effort from your guests but they will love it! On the shower invitation, make sure to inform the guests that they need to bring a baby photo of themselves. Upon arrival, collect all the photos and once they’ve been collected hang them on the wall or another designated space. Be sure to number each photo too.

The goal of this game is to identify as many baby photos as you can. Ask your guests to observe all the photos and record their guesses on a piece of paper. The guest with the most correct guesses wins!
