In the ever-evolving landscape of medical research and advancements, paid clinical trials present a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute to scientific progress while receiving compensation. We’ve rounded up a variety of paid clinical studies that are currently (as of publish date) recruiting volunteers in the United States and offering compensation to eligible participants. Start a search today to find paid clinical trials near you.

Type 1 Diabetes Study

Anyone with type 1 diabetes who suffers from severe low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with impaired awareness may be eligible to participate in a study evaluating the effectiveness of cells producing the hormone that regulates glucose in the blood. The study requires individuals between the ages 18 and 65, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, to assess whether one or two doses of the VX-880 Study Product can better regulate blood sugar levels.

Expect a screening visit up to 90 days before the infusion, an infusion procedure consisting of human stem cell-derived pancreas islets, and a follow-up period of five years. The compensation of this paid clinical trial is up to $5,630.

Stroke Study

People between the ages 21 and 70 who’ve experienced a stroke within the past six months are invited to take part in a research study aimed at understanding the use of electrical stimulation of the spinal cord and spinal nerves in restoring arm movement. Participants will attend up to 30 in-person visits and will receive up to $1,500 in compensation.

The study aims to address the challenge of long-term arm weakness in stroke survivors. It involves a pre-operative evaluation, outpatient medical procedure, and up to four weeks of testing. Assessments will include questionnaires, MRI scans, and blood draws.

Bipolar Disorder Study

Currently, the Atlanta Center for Medical Research is actively searching for adult volunteers who are willing to participate in a clinical study that focuses on Bipolar I. They are accepting applicants between the ages of 18 and 75-years-old, either male or female with a potential compensation of up to $4,250.

Bipolar disorder is a type of brain disorder that results in periods of intense emotions known as mood episodes. These episodes are either “manic” (high) or “depressive” (low) and characterized by significant changes in sleep patterns, activity levels, energy, and behavior.

Schizophrenia Study

Anyone between the ages of 18 and 60 who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder with significant and persistent negative symptoms, you might be eligible to participate in a research study. The study aims to determine if CET (Cognitive Enhancement Therapy) or EST (Enriched Supportive Therapy) treatment is more effective in improving thinking and emotions of individuals with schizophrenia.

Participants must speak and read English, take prescribed antipsychotic medication and have no history of seizures, head trauma, mental disability, drug, or alcohol abuse. The study will take place at Western Psychiatric Institute Clinic over 18 months. There is a potential compensation of up to $825.

Parkinson’s Study

The Atlanta for Medical Research is presently seeking healthy adults to participate in a clinical study on Parkinson’s disease. They are looking for men and women between the ages 40 and 85, with or without health insurance. The potential for compensation is up to $16, 244.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder of the brain that can take years to manifest, according to the National Parkinson’s Foundation. A person with Parkinson’s experiences a gradual loss of dopamine production in their brain. This can affect their movement, body, and emotions. Although people can live for years with the condition, the related complications can sometimes be fatal.

Depression Study

Postpartum blues usually start within the first two to three days after giving birth and can persist for up to two weeks. However, some mothers may encounter a more severe and prolonged form of depression referred to as postpartum depression. Seeking treatment is vital for women who are exhibiting symptoms of this condition.

If this sounds familiar, consider applying to a paid clinical study at the Atlanta Center for Medical Research. Experts here are inviting healthy adults to take part in a clinical study focused on postpartum depression. They are looking for women between the ages 18 to 45. Health insurance is not a requirement and compensation can reach up to $1,750.
