You know that anticipation and excitement we all get when we receive a gift or package in the mail? Now imagine having that each month! Having a subscription box for a toddler or little kid is a game changer for parents who don’t have time to shop for toys or come up with new and entertaining activities. These subscription boxes do all of that for us, and they’re pretty darn good at it!

Subscription boxes not only make playtime easier, but they also help introduce kids to new interests. To help decide which subscription box to try, here is a list of subscription boxes for toddlers and kids and what to expect with each of them…

Lovevery

Lovevery has become a very popular subscription box for babies and toddlers. Their boxes are grouped by age and focused on skills and development. Each box contains toys and play ideas for that specific stage. For example, the first box is for kids 13 to 15-months and is called The Babbler Play Kit which focuses on “challenges in balance, object permanence, and spatial awareness, as well as an early introduction to physics.”

Another great thing about this box is that all their toys are made from organic, sustainable materials and backed by scientific research to engage children’s developing brains. The baby subscription ships every two months, whereas the kits for children aged 1, 2, and 3 ship every three months and cost $120 each time.

Koala and Kiwi Crate

Kiwi Co. offers subscription boxes for babies from the newborn stage to 2-years-old, and then toddlers and kids, all the way up to the age of 14! Each subscription is perfectly curated to each age group — from plush toys to cool experiments. There is a little something for everyone!

The Koala Crate is for children aged 2 to 4 and is all about play and learning. The Kiwi Crate focuses on things like science and art and is for children aged 4 to 8. This company has earned rave reviews from parents and children for providing high quality, fun, and engaging toys and activities. Prices are super affordable starting at $23.95 per month with free shipping in the U.S. (international shipping is an additional cost). Discounts are available with 3, 6, or 12-month commitments.

Sensory TheraPlay Box

The Sensory TheraPlay Box is great for all kids, but especially children with autism. Curated by an occupational therapist with autistic kids in mind, these boxes contain activities and sensory toys that aid in developing motor skills, self-regulation, improve focus, and calm anxiety.

Each box comes with five or six sensory toys approved by an occupational therapist (i.e. fidget toys, sensory games, and activities) and a pamphlet that helps caregivers and parents understand how each item supports growth and development. This subscription costs $42 per monthly (plus shipping).

Little Passports

A toddler’s world is small, but it doesn’t have to be! Created by educators, parents, and kids, the Little Passports subscription box sparks a curiosity for culture in the minds of kids. Children will learn about world themes, while older kids get a deep dive into a new country each month.

The introduction box contains a suitcase, welcome letter, activity booklet, hands-on activity, stickers, and a world map to track their adventures. After this first month, each box contains a different theme with souvenirs and activities to teach them about different cultures, wildlife, and habitats around the world. The Little Passports box starts at $22 per month and is for kids aged 3 and up.

Music Library Box

Kids music can sometimes be a little…underwhelming. The Music Library Box fills that void by exposing kids to all kinds of famous artists of all different genres, from Bob Marley to Beethoven. The goal is to introduce kids to different styles of music through books and activities. They can even work on their own musical talents with instruments!

Each box has a different theme and contains a hands-on activity. Families will also gain access to lots of online resources including activities and printable downloads. This Music Library Box really tries to not only entertain kids, but also work as a musical education opportunity. Their monthly subscription starts at $42, but prices and offerings may vary.

We Craft Box

Crafting is a great activity for toddlers and little kids. It’s not only entertaining, but encourages creativity and fine motor skills. The We Craft Box is another monthly subscription box for kids, but solely contains art projects and crafts. Each box has a themed story with at least four related crafts.

Each box includes photo and video instructions, plus all the materials needed for their creations (except scissors). The We Craft Box arrives on a monthly basis for $34.99 a month or at a discounted price with 3, 6, or 12 month commitments.
