5 Cheap Anti-Aging Hacks That Will Keep You Looking Younger For Less

4 min read

By Chris Brown

We all want to keep that youthful glow. We’re willing to try all sorts of things at the mere promise of looking young for longer. There certainly are a lot of products to choose from, and even more advice to work through. In reality, winning the battle against aging isn’t as complicated as a lot of people make it out to be.

You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars either. That’s not to say that the more expensive options are entirely ineffective. They can help too. Still, a lot of the anti-aging hacks featured here are widely available, easy to benefit from, and incredibly cheap.

Drink Water

Staying hydrated throughout the day is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. It helps your body maintain its temperature, it promotes healthy joints, and it improves digestion. A water bottle is certainly the best gym-companion a person could ask for. Water is even more important for those that live in warmer climates.

When it comes to water’s effect on aging, the jury is still out. What few studies have been done haven’t yet established a causal link between proper hydration and younger-looking skin. Still, everyone agrees that most Americans should drink more water. So invest in a bottle that you’ll want to carry around and bring it everywhere.

Get Moving!

Finding a way to incorporate more movement into your daily life is one of the best things you can do for your skin. Exercise boosts circulation, increases blood flow, and improves your body’s ability to distribute nutrients and filter out waste. The result is healthier, more youthful looking skin

As far as the health benefits of regular exercise is concerned, healthy skin is just the tip of the iceberg. Regular exercise is associated with countless positive health outcomes including:

  • Improved brain health
  • Reduced risk of cardiovascular disease
  • Reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes
  • Reduced risk of some cancers

Exercise is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, but it can take some time to adjust. Aim for 150 minutes of movement per week, but don’t be afraid to start small. You don’t have to hit the gym either. Gardening, dancing, walking, and even cleaning the house all contribute to your weekly movement goal.

Fillers and Injectables

Non-surgical cosmetic procedures, like fillers and injectables, are great modern tools to help combat wrinkles, improve the appearance of scars, and treat shallow contours. Access to these safe and effective procedures has grown exponentially, which has helped drive the costs down too.

Fillers and injectables are charged by the syringe, though even that can fluctuate based on the type of filler or injectable and the qualifications of the person administering it. Dermal fillers can cost as little as $600 and as much as $1,000. Getting a quote is typically as easy as connecting with a local professional and asking a few questions.

Hydrate Your Skin

Incorporating moisturizer into your self care routine is essential. It helps reduce the risk of skin problems, and can even help camouflage blemishes. Moisturize your face at least once per day to keep your skin hydrated and looking youthful.

Any moisturizer is better than no moisturizer, but if you’re looking to maximize the benefits of this healthy morning practice then try out one of the popular, effective, and affordable choices below.

Dynamic Skin Recovery from Dermalogica

A popular choice amongst skin care experts, Dynamic Skin Recovery from Dermalogica is formulated to hydrate your skin and protect it from the sun’s harmful UV rays

Mineral 89 from Vichy

Wash your face, and apply just two drops of Mineral 89 to your skin twice per day to strengthen and repair your skin barrier, and make it more resistant to the most pronounced signs of aging. The popular skin serum contains pure hyaluronic acid and a combination of 15 skin-enhancing minerals

Ultra Facial Moisturizer from Kiehl

Kiehl’s iconic moisturizer is effective for all skin types. It’s parabens and fragrance-free too! It’s commonly used after cleansing and toning in the morning and the evenings, but can also be used throughout the day whenever you’re feeling dry

CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream

CeraVe’s moisturizing cream is yet another popular choice among those in the know. The product uses active ingredients called ceramides that help restore and protect the skin. It’s fragrance free, and can be used on the face and the body to help prevent dryness.

Take Your Vitamins

Most Americans aren’t getting enough essential vitamins and nutrients from food alone. Unless you have the resources and discipline to maintain a perfectly balanced diet, you’ll likely want to supplement with vitamins.

A multivitamin should do the trick for most people. They’re affordable and widely available. The supplements most commonly linked to anti-aging include:

    • Vitamin E
    • Vitamin C
    • Vitamin A
    • Vitamin D
    • Selenium
    • Zinc
    • Collagen

Say Goodbye to Aging

See what we mean? There are simple, effective, and affordable anti-aging options available to anyone willing to look. But a quality moisturizer and a fancy new water bottle is only useful to those that use them. You have to prioritize your skin care routine, and over time it will develop into a healthy habit that keeps you looking younger.
