Choosing a name for your little one is no easy task.  Many parents often turn to the internet to search for ideas before finally deciding on a name.

Are you expecting a child in 2019?  Whether you are expecting a boy or a girl, here are some of the predicted most popular names for 2019!

1. Aria (AHR-ee-ah)

The name Aria is a girl’s name of Italian origin.  The name means “air, song or melody”.  Of late, the name was popularized by one of the characters in the popular Game of Thrones series.

In 2017, the name Aria was #20 on the list of most popular names, and it continues to climb the list. Most famously known with the name Aria is actress and singer, Aria Wallace.  She is best known for her performances on iCarly, and has made guest appearances on The Bernie Mac Show, Charmed, and That ’70s Show.

2. Amelia (ah-MEE-lee-ah)

The name Amelia is a girls name that is an English-language variant of Amalia, derived from the Germanic word ‘amal’ which means ‘work’.  It is also a variant of Emilia — another popular girls name.

Most famously known with the name Amelia is the famous pilot, Amelia Earhart — who was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.  Also known with the name Amelia is TV actress, Amelia Rose Blaire and UK Pop Singer, Amelia Lily.  Jay William (former Chicago Bulls point guard) and his wife Nikki Bonacorsi welcomed their daughter, Amelia in October of 2018.  Actor Harry Hamlin and wife Lisa Rinna also chose the name Amelia for their daughter born in 2001.

The name Aubrey is a unisex name.  It is an English given name, from ‘Aubri’, the French form of the German name Alberich, which consists of the elements alf “elf” and ric “power”, with the meaning of “fair ruler of little people”.  It is a popular female name, but was traditionally male.

In 2017 the name was the 31st most popular name of the year.  Most famously known with the name Aubrey is actress Aubrey Plaza who played April Ludgate in the television series Parks and Recreation.  Other famous Aubrey’s include actresses Aubrey Miller, Aubrey Anderson Emmons, and Aubrey Peeples.  Actor Terrence Howard also chose this name for his daughter born in 1993.  Aubrey is also the first name of Canadian actor and rapper, Drake!

The name Avery is another popular baby name that can be used for a little boy or girl.  Avery is a given name which was originally an English surname, that (along with Aubrey) was derived from the Old French version of the name Alfred or the Ancient Germanic name Alberich.  The meaning of the name is derived from the Old English words aelf “elf” and raed “counsel”.

The name Avery has been quite trendy for a few years now.  It was ranked as 14th most popular name in 2017.  Most famously known with the name Avery is basketball player, Avery Bradley and pop singer, Avery Storm.  A number of celebs have chose the name for their daughters, including: actress Amy Locane, writer (and son of Dr Phil) Jay Phillip McGraw, and athlete Jason Sehorn.

5. Axel (AK-sel)

Emilia is a feminine name derived from “Aemilia”, the feminine from of the the Latin name “Aemilius”.  The name means to “rival, excel or emulate”.
