“Grow Food,” is not only my new favorite new song EVER, but also an inspiring project from Appetite for Change’s summer youth program in collaboration with the Beats and Rhymes program, at the Northside Minneapolis YMCA. It’s a fantastic song (I seriously can’t stop “whippin in the kitchen, whippin in the kitchen”) with an inspiring social message about the importance of eating healthy food and urban farming.
The lyrics are amazing, with killer rhymes like, “Call me John Deere shorty, I be growing like a farmer” and “I get the C from the oranges, I get the B from the broccoli, I get the A from the milk. I get my vitamins properly. My food be packed with the minerals. I hope you taking this literally. So when you’re 65+, you should be passing you physical.” You can (and definitely should) support this amazing social message by purchasing your own copy of the #GrowFood song here on @iTunes!
