Wear Sunglasses

You may think it’s just a fashion statement but wearing sunglasses on a regular basis will drastically reduce wrinkles between your eyebrows from squinting. It will also prevent wrinkles from forming around your eyes which is a clear sign of aging poorly.

Eat Berries

Everyone knows that berries are good for you, but it’s their antioxidant properties that make them such an effective anti-aging food. From cranberries and strawberries to blueberries and raspberries, there’s no shortage of delicious choices when it comes to these incredibly healthy fruits.

Wear Hats

Much like sunglasses, hats will protect your face and neck from the sun. Too much sun is the primary cause for aging quickly. If you want to stay looking younger longer, throw on a cute hat before a day at the beach.

Eat Dark Chocolate

If you decided that number 1 (wearing sunglasses) and number 3 (wearing hats) on our list just aren’t going to work for you, you may be able to protect yourself from aging in another way: eating dark chocolate. Researchers have found that eating (or drinking) dark chocolate can actually help protect the skin against the harmful effects of UV exposure.

Exercise

You probably do this on a regular basis anyways but maybe you’ve been unaware of the positive effects moderate exercise has on your skin. Running and working out gets your blood flowing which keeps skin looking young and radiant. Plus, hundreds of studies show that exercise combats the loss of stamina, muscle strength, balance and bone density that increases with age. Drink Red Wine

I bet you’re happy to see this one on the list. So were we! Drinking red wine not only reduces stress (one of the leading causes of aging poorly) but it also is packed with antioxidants which have countless benefits when it comes to fighting aging. Just make sure you don’t overdo it: 1-2 glasses a day is all you need – anything more becomes unhealthy.

Use Wrinkle-Reducing Creams and Moisturizers

Anti-aging creams and moisturizers actually work. To find an effective product, look for ones that contain retinol. Retinol has been proven to reduce fine lines, fade browning spots and smoothen skin. You don’t need to spend a fortune on a good cream. $15-20 per month should do the trick.

Eat Beans

Beans are jam-packed with countless nutrients that help with anti-aging. In addition to being a great source of low-fat protein, beans are also high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Eat a couple of handfuls of beans everyday and your body will thank you.

Use Sunscreen

This one pretty much goes without saying. Sunscreen is probably the single most important component to help fight aging. Using a sunscreen with at least a 15 SPF every day (30 or more if you plan to be out in the hot sun) will make you stay looking younger for much longer.

Combine using sunscreen with wearing a hat and sunglasses and you’ve got a fool-proof way to help combat the aging process.

Drink Lots of Water

Drinking lots of water is the easiest (not to mention cheapest) way to make sure you stay looking young and beautiful. Water hydrates the skin, smoothing out fine lines and moisturizing your skin so it looks radiant and healthy. A minimum of 8 glasses of water per day is recommended for soaking up all of the benefits of this refreshing beverage.

Eat Spinach

The health benefits of eating spinach are endless. Eating a healthy portion of spinach every day will help eliminate cellulite and keep your skin glowing. This vegetable is also packed full of antioxidants, which will help fight wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Consider throwing a handful of spinach in your morning berry smoothie and you’ll have one heck of an anti-aging breakfast on your hands.

Take Supplements

Eating the recommended amounts of fruits, vegetables and nutrients every day is next to impossible for most people. For this reason, it’s important to take a multivitamin supplement everyday which will give your body the nutrients it needs. You may want to consider specific types of vitamin and mineral supplements as well (like calcium, iron, protein etc) to make sure your body is getting what it needs to function everyday.

Get a Good Night Sleep – Every Night

Getting a good night sleep is the easiest way to make sure your face and body don’t look old and haggard. Sleeping well keeps you stress free and energized. If you’re getting a quality night sleep then you’ll be more likely to follow-through with all of the other items on this list that are required for graceful aging as well.

Quit Drinking/Smoking

With the exception of a glass or two of red wine a day, drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and smoking (separately or together) is one of the fastest ways to looking years older than you are. These bad habits suck the life out of your skin and make it look dry and old. Consider kicking these poor habits and your skin and body will thank you later.

Ditch the Makeup

Many women think that wearing makeup makes them look younger. Maybe that’s partially true but there are two very important things you should know if you want to stay looking young and beautiful: Cream foundations and powder foundations are your worst enemy. As you get older, fine wrinkles around your eyes and mouth are inevitable. You can decrease them by using creams and moisturizers but you won’t be able to eliminate them completely.

When you apply cream or powder foundations to these areas, the makeup seeps into the wrinkles making them appear way more noticeable than they were when your face was free of makeup. Throw these products in the trash and you’ll look years younger instantly.
